Mike Wilder calling
The Kingman Kut-Ups have had an easy winter and we are looking forward to spring. We have had Dale Dockery in January at our 1st annual Chili Cook-off. We had 7 different chilies to choose from. Darrell Newell was our guest caller for February at our Mardi Gras dance. And of course we are very lucky and proud to have our club Caller, Mike Wilder for our Halfway Dance and Valentine Ball. Fun was had by all. We thank all the guest dancers that made their way to our club. We did a demo for the Arizona Centennial Celebration in King-man on February 11. We were able to get the word out that “YES there is square dancing in Kingman”.
We are heading into our busiest time of the year with March and April. Mike Wilder is calling the Running Bear Dance March 10th. Come and earn a running bear badge. Mike Wilder is calling and Nancy Mouser is cueing. Dance starts at 7 pm AZ time. At our second dance of the month on March 24th Darren Gallina, of Lompoc, CA, is calling for our We Dance For Food Dance or our HOBO Dance. Bring a canned food item and you get in for a discounted rate. Dress in your hobo attire. Prizes will be awarded.
Our Big Weekend Dance of the Year is HERE!!! RTE 66 JUBILEE, APRIL 13, 14 & 15. Lee Hailey of Mesa, AZ is calling and Nancy Mouser is cueing. The festivities start Friday night at 6:30 pm with Pre-rounds and Squares at 7 pm. Saturday Workshops start at 9:30 am to 11:00 am with squares and 11:00 am to 12:30 pm with rounds. Our big Saturday night dance starts at 7:00 pm with Pre-rounds, Grand March at 7:30 pm and Squares start at 7:45 pm till 10:00 pm. (This is all AZ time) We have something new to add with a Sunday morning Donut Dance at 9:30 am. All this fun for the weekend is $22 a person if you register by April 1st. Friday night dance is $12 a person, Saturday night dance is $15 a person at the door. Sunday morning dance and workshops are included with the weekend price. All this great dancing, door prizes, (at least 40 give away each night) and you all know how Kingman likes to feed the dances with all the great food buffets. This year we are happy to have MONDIKI back with their clothing line. They will be with us all weekend for your square dance attire needs. Don’t miss the Jubilee Dance of the season, April 13 - 15th.
After all that fun we are having a Spring Hat Dance April 28th with Mike Wilder calling. Wear your best “Spring Hat”. Prizes will be awarded for the best hats.
We are also planning our 2nd Annual RV Weekend at Camp Davis in Bullhead, AZ, May 4, 5 & 6. We are looking for a few more campers to join us. Call Nancy Atkeson if you are interested. We are right on the river and next to Laughlin, NV. Fishing, Fun, & Food and even a little dancing are on the agenda for the weekend. Come and join us.
A few upcoming events are on the calendar and a few changes too. May 12th is the Graduation Dance for our class and the May 26th dance has been cancelled due to the holiday. As you can see, Kingman Kutups are busy and we want you all to come and join us.
See you in a square
